Cops ID man shot dead in West Palm

37-year-old was killed Thursday in city’s north end.

WEST PALM BEACH — Police s e a r c h e d F r i d ay f o r t h e gunman who fatally shot a 37-year-old man in the city’s north end late Thursday.

O f f i c e r s f o u n d J i mmy Charles dead at the scene when they arrived at the 600 block of 58th Street, along Broadway northeast of St. Mary’s Medical Center, at 8:45 p.m. for a report of gunfire.

Police did not release informatio­n Friday about possible suspects.

T h e s h o o t i n g i s b e i n g investigat­ed as a homicide, said Detective Lori Colombino, c it y police spokeswoma­n.

It is the city’s fourth confirmed homicide of 2016 and Palm Beach County’s 52nd, according to a Palm Beach Post database.

The most recent in the city prior to Thursday was the fatal shooting in May of former American Heri- tage School football standout Greg Bryant Jr.
