Suburban woman charged in fatal wrong-way crash
A 42-year-old suburban West Palm Beach woman was arrested Wednesday in connection with a wrong-way crash west of the cit y that killed a Royal Palm Beach man in June, the Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s Office said.
Dina Brown is facing multiple charges, including DUI mansl au g h t e r, ve h i c u l a r homicide, DUI causing serious bodily injury and reckless driving causing bodily injury. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail late Wednesday.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. June 11 in the 2700 block of Westgate Avenue, south of Okeechobee Boulevard and west of Congress Avenue.
Authorities say Brown was driving on the wrong side of the road when her 2013 Kia Sedan collided with a Toyota pickup driven by James G r i n d e r, 3 6 , k i l l i n g h i m instantly.
Brown and her passenger, 10-year-old Nyaja Brown, suffered serious injuries.
A judge Thursday ordered t hat Brown be hel d o n a $100,000 bond and be placed on in-house arrest if released.
