Not-guilty plea entered by surviving yoga twin

Former area studio owner faces murder of sister in Hawaii.

The co-owner of a former Palm Beach County yoga studio has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges in the death of her twin sister in May.

Alison Dadow entered her plea Monday when she was arraigned in circuit court on the Hawaiian island of Maui, where the May 29 crash that killed her sister took place, The Maui News reported. She is being held in jail there with her bail set at $3 million.

Dadow was driving a Ford Explorer on Maui’s Hana Highway at the island’s rural east end when the crash took place. Witnesses said Dadow and her sister Ann were fighting as they drove along the winding road, screaming and pulling each other’s hair, when the SUV toppled down a cliff.

The sisters ran Twin Power Yoga studios in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens from 2011 until 2014 b e f o re a b r u p t l y movi n g from Palm Beach Count y a mi d d e b t s a n d a c c u s a - tions that they didn’t pay their employees. They traveled through other resort towns before ending up in Hawaii in late 2015, living in a five-bedroom, two-story, 3,800- squ are -foot home on the island’s north-central coast.

Alison Dadow was living under the name Alexandria Duval while in Hawaii. Ann Dadow adopted the name of Anastasia Duval. She was originally charged with second-degree murder in June, but a judge dismissed the charges.

In court Monday, Dadow, who was handcuffed and we a r i n g a p i n k t o p a n d black-and-white leggings, answered “present” when her name was called. Her public defender told the court that Dadow planned to hire her own attorney.

Dadow told the judge she had no questions about the charges against her. A Jan. 26 pretrial conference was set.
