No. 6 FSU has its best ranking since 1993
Florida State jumped from 10th to sixth in the latest Associated Press college basketball poll, the Seminoles’ highest ranking since February 1993 when they also were sixth.
F S U ( 1 8 - 2 ) d e f e a t e d No. 13 Louisville on Saturday to remain tied atop the ACC standings.
Despite losing at home to Vanderbilt on Saturday, Florida (14-5) remained in the poll at No. 25.
Meanwhile, Villanova and Kansas remain the top two teams in the poll.
The Wildcats (19-1) beat Seton Hall and Providence last week and received 35 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel on Monday. This is the seventh week on top this season for Villanova.
Kansas (18-1) was No. 1 on 28 ballots. Last week, the Jayhawks had 32 first-place votes, compared with 28 for Villanova.
Gonzaga (19-0), the last unbeaten team in Division I, got the other two first-place votes and moved up one spot to third, the Zags’ high- est ranking of the season.
Ke n t u c k y a n d B a y l o r both moved up one place to fourth and fifth, respectively.
Arizona had the week’s biggest jump, going from 14th to No. 7 with its win at UCLA on Saturday. The loss knocked the Bruins from third to No. 8.
North Carolina and Oregon rounded out the top 10.

■ No. 3 Gonzaga 83, (at) Portland 64: Zach Collins had 13 points as the Bulldogs (20-0, 8-0 West Coast) beat the Pilots (9-11, 2-6) in a game that was rescheduled because of a winter storm this month.
■ N.C. St a te 84, ( a t ) No. 17 Duke 82: Freshman Dennis Smith Jr. scored a season-high 32 points as the Wolfpack (14-7, 3-5 ACC) upset the Blue Devils (155, 3-4) for their first win at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium since 1995. Abdul-Malik Abu added 19 points for N.C. State, which used a 20-5 run to erase a 68-59 deficit in the final 6 ½ minutes. Luke Kennard had 20 points to lead Duke.
