New advisory indicates Trump will visit Palm Beach 1st weekend of March
President Donald Trump may not visit his Palm Beach home this weekend — but he’s already planning his next trip.
On Thursday, the Federal Aviation Administration issued an advisory for pilots cautioning that flight restrictions will be in effect in Palm Beach County from March 3-5.
I n a d d i t i o n , P o l i t i c o reported that while in town then, Trump will speak to a gathering of top Republican Party donors, in town for a retreat hosted by the Republican National Committee.
The early FAA advisories have become the first sign of when Palm Beach County residents can expect the president to visit his Mar-a-Lago Club.
The advisory issued Thursd ay i n c l u d e s a s e p a r a t e notice to pilots laying out the flight restrictions and warning them to check back often for changes — a nod to the dozen pilots who violated airspace restrictions during Trump’s visit this past weekend. At least seven of those were intercepted by mili- tary aircraft.
“Exact location and times may change,” the notice states. “Pilots planning to fly in this region should check published NOTAMs (Notices t o Ai r men) f re quent l y. . . before every flight!”
Then, on the next line and in bold: “Previous TFRs (temporary flight restrictions) in this region have resulted in numerous airspace violations.”
T h e p r e s i d e n t ’s mo s t recent visit wrapped up Monday on Presidents Day, after a weekend at his estate during which he played some golf — including a round with toptier golfer and fellow Palm Beach County resident Rory McIlroy — and interviewed and named his new National Securit y Adviser pick, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster.
It appears Trump is not planning to return this weekend, opting instead to remain in Washington, D.C., to work on hi s speech bef ore he addresses a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, CNN has reported.
Also at Mar-a-Lago in the first weekend of March: the Evening of Vision Gala benefiting the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami. The fundraiser begins at 6:30 p.m. March 4. Tickets for the ball run from $600 for an individual ticket, to $5,000 for four seats and membership in the Bascom Palmer’s Friend Society, to $50,000 for two tables of 10 people, an invitation to pregala events and recognition in the 2017 issue of the institute’s magazine.
Trump has popped into several charity events during the three weekend visits he has made to Mar-a-Lago since his inauguration, including the annual Red Cross Ball on Feb. 4 and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Discovery Gala last weekend.
The president will speak at 10 a.m. today at the Conservative Politic al Action Conference in Washington. He joins a lineup of speakers that includes Vice President Mike Pence, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, Florida Congressmen Francis Rooney and Ron DeSantis, and Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz.
