Deputies arrest man in carjacking at clinic

GREENACRES — Tudor Tacorian told authoritie­s he had no idea how another man’s items ended up in his wallet.

Investigat­ors say he may have taken them during a carjacking outside a primary-care clinic Wednesday afternoon in Greenacres.

The Palm Beach County Sheriffff ’s Offiffice arrested Tacorian, 32, on Wednesday after alleging that he stole a couple’s car from the Primary and Urgent Care Center near Lake Worth and Jog roads.

Deputies found Tacorian and the stolen white Hyundai about a mile and a half away in the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy, the sheriffff ’s offiffice said. He remained in custody Sunday afternoon in lieu of $25,000 bail. Jail records do not show a current address for Tacorian.

According to sheriffff ’s investigat­ors, a 20-year-old man and hi s girlfriend were in their vehicle when Tacorian approached t h e m a t about 1 : 3 0 p . m . Wednesday and ordered them to get o u t . H e threatened to shoot the couple but never displayed a weapon, the sheriffff ’s offiffice said.

Fearing for their safet y, the couple abandoned the vehicle and left the keys in the ignition. Tacorian got in and sped away on westbound Lake Worth Road, the sheriffff ’s offiffice said. Deputies quickly detained him, and the couple from the clinic identififi­ed him.

After his arrest, deputies retrieved a wallet that contained his identififi­cation and several cards belonging to the Hyundai’s registered owner.

Tacorian s ai d the c ards were not all his, but he could not explain how the other cards got there, the sheriffff ’s offiffice said.
