Sober home task force arrests another
Kris Bayne allegedly accepted kickbacks totaling $94,225.
A day after the arrest of Daniel Kandler. CEO of a Delray Beach treatment center, on 93 counts of patient brokering on Thursday, the Palm Beach County Sober Home Task Force on Friday arrested the owner of a sober home who allegedly accepted kickbacks from Kandler’s company.
According to the arrest report, Kris Bayne, operator of Guiding Light Properties, accepted 33 checks totaling $94,225 from Chapters Recovery, owned by Kandler, for referring resi- dents of his sober home to the treatment center.
Kandler, 41, was arrested on Thursday morning by the Palm Beach County Sober Home Task Force. His bond was set at $100,000.
Bayne, 28, of Delray Beach, is one of four sober home operators named in Kandler’s arrest report who allegedly accepted kickbacks from Chapters Recovery — formerly known as Good Future Recovery.
