Crash into wall breaks collarbone

Outfielder Jarrett Parker was placed on the 10-day disabled list by the San Francisco Giants on Sunday, a day after he broke his right collarbone by slamming into the left-field wall while catching a fly ball.

Parker robbed Colorado’s D J LeMahieu of a potential extra-base hit in the Rockies’ 5-0 win Saturday at San Francisco.

G i a n t s man a ge r B r u c e Bochy said Sunday that Parker, 28, likely will be out about eight weeks.

“He’s probably looking at some kind of surgery to get it fixed,” Bochy said.

Orioles: All-St ar closer Zach Britton was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left forearm strain.

Reds: Brandon Finnegan is expected to miss at least a month because of a strained left shoulder. The left-hander became the fourth Cincinnati starting pitcher to go on the disabled list, joining Rookie Davi s , Homer Bai l e y a nd Anthony DeSclafani.

Blue Jays: Right-hander Aaron Sanchez was put on the 10-day disabled list with a blister on his middle finger.

Athletics: Shortstop Marcus Semien was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a bruised right wrist.

Rays: Right-hander Jake Odorizzi (left hamstring) went on the 10-day DL. Right-hander Chase Whitley was recalled from Triple-A Durham.

Braves: Nick Markakis’ RBI double in the eighth inning Sunday extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Red Sox: First baseman Mitch Moreland, signed as a free agent to a $5.5 million, one-year deal, has gone 16 for 33 after opening hitless in 12 at-bats.

Marlins: Third baseman Martin Prado (right hamstring) is expected to rejoin the team tonight in Seattle after completing a rehab assignment with Single-A Jupiter. “I’m feeling ready to go,” Prado said.
