Old Palm’s golf course and full complement of golf programs are sustained by the remarkable expertise and professionalism of its staff. Specifically, three members of the Old Palm play a vital role in continuing the private golf club community’s tradition of superior golf.
Dan Terlescki recently joined Old Palm Golf Club’s top-tier staff as Director of Golf. He is an award-winning PGA Professional with Class “A” status and advanced certification in Golf Operations. Terlescki has extensive experience in coaching, developing a professional staff, managing member tournaments, and directing golf instructional programs.
He ove r s e e s t h e t e a m responsible for keeping Old Palm’s esteemed golf programs running smoothly. Under his leadership, Old Palm Golf Club will secure the continuation of successful member tournaments and extensive teaching programs, maintaining its status as one of the most highly regarded private golf courses in Florida.
“It’s an honor to be able to present our members with one-of-a-kind instruction opportunities, which I know from experience will completely transform their game,” said Terlescki.
Along with Direc tor of Instruction Mark Hackett, Terlescki manages Old Palm’s all-inclusive golf instructional programs. Beginners get an ideal introduc tion to the game by practicing in the driving areas and playing the three holes at the Golf Studio, which replicates the conditions of Old Palm’s unique 19-hole course.
Members can also take private golf lessons with Hackett, one of Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Golf Instructors. Old Palm’s PGA golf instruction team also holds weekly supervised practice sessions for men, women, and mixed couples. Occasionally, leading PGA golf instructors are invited to teach special twoday intense golf clinics, a welcome challenge for seasoned players.
A driving factor behind these first-rate golf programs is Old Palm Golf Club’s golf course. The team responsible for maintaining the golf course is lead by another standout member of Old Palm’s faculty, Golf Course Superintendent Danny Sapp. He is a 12-year member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America with Class “A” status.
Sapp has 18 years of experience in staff development. A n o t h e r o f h i s a r e a s o f expertise is golf turf maintenance, specializing in grow- ing Paspalum and Tiff-Eagle grass, which are the varieties found at Old Palm. He is in charge of ensuring the consistency and playability of Old Palm’s acclaimed golf course, designed by the legendary player and course architect Raymond Floyd.
“Having lived in Florida, I have always held Old Palm in the highest regard,” said S a pp, “Ol d P a l m’s g re a t reputation and my desire to build relationships and exceed member expectations are two of the reasons I initially joined this team, and I couldn’t be happier that I did.”
