Gaskin backs off Kentucky: Just three weeks after announcing his commitment to Kentucky, Atlantic wide receiver Cadarius Gaskin is looking for other options for his ootball and academic career.

The 2018 senior announced Monday morning that he had decommitted from the Wildcats, tweeting, “My recruitment is open.” Gaskin could not be reached for comment early Monday afternoon.

Gaskin, who 247Sports rates a three-star prospect and the No. 128 wide receiver in the nation, has offers from North Carolina State, Syracuse, Rutgers and more. He is No. 12 on the Post’s Big Board.

Gaskin said in April that he liked the Kentucky coaching staff.

“The coaches there treating me like I’m (their) son,” Gaskin said via Twitter mes- sage after he committed when asked why he picked Kentucky. “They want me to come and do great things, and I felt like that was the right choice for me and my family.”

Gaskin t ol d Scout t hat South Florida is currently recruiting him the most.

“Our relationship is very high,” Gaskin told Scout. “They will let me play baseball and football, so that’s a big help.”

Gaskin has starred as a pitcher for the Atlantic baseball team this season.

He is 5-2 with one save in 16 games, and he has a 1.76 ERA. The Eagles won the District 13-8A title last week, upsetting Coral Springs-Coral Glades. Atlantic plays Sunrise-Piper in the first round of the regional playoffs at 7 tonight.

Gaskin i s a member of arguably the deepest receiving corps in Palm Beach County, along with Florida commit Corey Gammage, top 2020 receiver Aydin Henningham and former Dwyer receiver Oyeh Lurry-Davis.
