Just five months after it opened in Boca Raton, Rappy’s, the modernized Jewish deli of restaurateur Burt Rapoport’s dreams, closed on May 24.

It reopened under new management Thursday as P a r k P l a c e De l i , a more affordable spot focused on deli classics, Rapoport’s Restaurant Group announced May 23.

Rapopor t has bro ught in veteran deli man Lance Hirschhorn to operate the new restaurant, which will offer a menu of traditional dishes at a lower price range.

A s mana g i n g p a r t n e r, Hirschhorn, a 45-year veteran of the deli world, brings with him a full team. The Brooklyn native got his start as a teenager working at the kosher butcher shop owned by his father, according to the restaurant statement. He helped turn that market into a full-service deli and catering shop.

“My goal with Park Place Deli is to astonish our guests with exceptional ser vice and food at a great value,” Hirschhorn said via the news release.

Rapoport’s group, which will stay on as a partner, will handle Park Place’s purchasing, marketing and account- ing. The new restaurant will participate in Rapoport’s Rewards loyalt y program and accept the group’s gift cards.

The new deli will serve all-day breakfast, plus lunch and dinner daily. It will offer weekend brunch and catering services.

On the menu: Classics like matzo ball chicken soup ($4.99), sandwiches stacked with house-smoked pastrami and corned beef ($11.99 each) and stuffed cabbage ($6.99), plus traditional dishes like kreplach, c alf ’s liver and stuffed derma.

Perhaps more importantly to Rappy’s cheesecake lovers, Park Place will serve Rapoport’s Original New York Cheesecake ($7.99), a bite that rivals Junior’s.

Park Place also will offer Park Palace Plaza, 5560 N. Military Trail, Boca Raton. 561-314-6840
