He isn’t the biggest name in the University of Miami’s top-ranked 2018 recruiting class, but Delone Scaife is raising his stock.

Scaife, an offensive lineman from Miami Southridge High, was named offensive line MVP at the recent Rivals Five-Star Challenge camp in Indianapolis.

“No one improved their standing more,” Rivals analyst Mike Farrell wrote in review of the camp. “He isn’t the tallest tackle and could be forced to play guard in college, but his arm extension is excellent and his footwork was flawless.”

Rivals rates Scaife, 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds, as a fourstar prospect, while ESPN and 247Sports consider him a three-star. ESPN’s scout- ing report says he is “an athletic offensive lineman who looks to punish opponents. With added bulk and polish, this kid has the potential to be a very good guard at the next level.”

He is one of two offensive linemen in UM’s 2018 class, which is No. 1 in the nation according to Rivals, 247Sports, ESPN and Scout. com. Four-star guard Cleveland Reed (6-3, 327) is the other.

The Hurricanes are after a few tackle prospects, including three-star Orlando-based John Campbell (6-5, 284) and three-star Daniel Faalele (6-8, 400) of Bradenton-IMG Academy.
