Rosskopf, Neben win national time trials

Joey Rosskopf edged BMC Racing teammate Brent Bookwalter to win the U.S. time trial championship in Knoxville, Tenn., while world champion Amber Neben stormed to victory in the women’s race.

The 27-year-old Rosskopf went off before several of the favorites and covered four laps on a 4.78-mile course in 36 minutes, 25 seconds. Bookwalter was among the last to finish, in a time of 37:22. The 42-year-old Neben won her second national title by covering three laps in 30:27, topping Lauren Stephens by 32 seconds.

The men’s and women’s road races today wrap up this year’s nationals.
