Mail carrier took bribes to deliver drugs in Boca
Evelyn Price could be sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.
WEST PALM BEACH — For months, a U.S. postal worker took cash bribes to deliver packages of drugs on her route in Boca Raton, the 53-year-old told federal authorities.
On Friday, Evelyn Ramona Price pleaded guilty in federal court to bribery of a public official, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000.
Federal authorities questioned Price in late October when a package she delivered to The Oaks in Boca Raton was addressed to a woman who didn’t live at the listed location, court records state.
She said she met a man named “Steve” in June 2016 who asked for addresses along her route and offered her $50 for every package she delivered for him.
“Steve” would notify Price the morning packages were expected at the post office, she said. The two later would meet up at a veterinary hospital or a Publix Super Market near her route in the 33496 ZIP code along Yamato Road between State Road 7 and Military Trail, she said, and he would pay her for the deliveries.
She didn’t know exactly what was in the packages, though she told federal authorities “I figured it was some kind of drugs, but I don’t know what drugs.”

If Cornerstone is ultimately approved, the new Mediterranean-style building would be about a dozen feet shorter than Harbourside Place, where the highest building is about 60 feet.
The plan unanimously was recommended for approval April 13 by the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission. The Town Council is not bound by the recommendation.
