A 19-year-old woman who authorities say is part of a Los Angeles pickpocketing group that came to South Florida to swipe wallets is accused of trying to buy a $3,300 Chanel purse with a stolen credit card, court documents show.

Danae Francisca Barra-Lisboa was arrested June 19 on charges of grand theft between $300 and $20,000, fraudulent use of credit and fraudulent use of personal ID information, according to a Boca Raton police report.

On June 23, a judge set her bail at $20,000.

She remained in custody early Wednesday at the Palm Beach County Jail.

On June 9, a Bank of America credit card belonging to another woman was used at the Neiman Marcus Chanel boutique at Town Center at Boca Raton on West Glades Road, the report said.

The woman to whom the card belonged said her Louis Vuitton wallet was stolen from her purse that day while she ate at Panera Bread about a mile away from the mall.

The Chanel sales representative told police that a woman who only spoke Spanish tried to buy the bag, the report said.

The employee said she asked the woman for a photo ID, and when the woman couldn’t provide one, the charge was declined.

The woman left the store afterward.

A mall surveillance video shows a woman going into the boutique, speaking with the employee and leaving, the report said.

On June 12, police found information that Barra-Lisboa was driving a 2014 silver Dodge Dart rented June 8 from BSafe Miami Auto Rental.

Authorities contacted the car rental and learned the vehicle was due that day, the report said.

A Boca Raton police detective and a Miami-Dade County investigator later found the suspect’s rental car parked in front of the business, with Barra-Lisboa and two men and another woman inside.

Barra-Lisboa said she and the three others in the car worked together as a team to pickpocket wallets and use the credit cards to purchase highend items, the report said.

Police said the group traveled from Los Angeles to Miami on about June 7 to commit these crimes. Since arriving, they had traveled across South Florida to steal wallets and commit credit card fraud, the report said.
