Trump Jr.’s meeting timeline
Donald Trump's eldest son met in 2016 with a Russian lawyer who he believed had damaging information on Hillary Clinton, a claim Trump Jr. said he dismissed but which has raised new questions about the Trump campaign's ties to Russia.
Goldstone Agalarov
2013: Rob Goldstone is a publicist for singer Emin Agalarov, who performed at the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, which was owned by Donald Trump. Agalarov’s father Aras, a Moscow-based real estate tycoon, had bought the rights to hold the pageant in Moscow and sought other deals with Trump.
Goldstone Trump Jr.
June 3, 2016: Goldstone emails Trump Jr., saying Emin Agalarov wants to pass on “very sensitive” incriminating information about Hillary Clinton gathered by the Russian government. Trump Jr., who is traveling, replies that he can do a phone call “first thing next week” and that he would “love it” if the information were as advertised.
Goldstone Veselnitskaya June 7: Goldstone emails Trump Jr. to set up a meeting between him and Natalia Veselnitskaya — whom Goldstone describes as a Russian government attorney — who is flying to New York from Moscow. Trump Jr. schedules a meeting at Trump Tower. June 9: Trump Jr. meets with Veselnitskaya. Also present are: Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner; Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort; Goldstone; Russian-American lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin; Irakly (Ike) Kaveladze, who works for developer Aras Agalarov; and a translator. According to Trump Jr., Veselnitskaya turned the conversation to a defunct program that had allowed the American adoption of Russian children. “She had no meaningful information” related to possible Democratic improprieties, Trump Jr. said in a statement. Akhmetshin said Trump Jr. asked for evidence of illicit money flowing to the Democratic National Committee, and when Veselnitskaya told the group she had no information, Trump Jr. lost interest in the meeting.
