LAKE WORTH — Last year, the Park Vista girls volleyball team traveled to Jupiter and spoiled the Warriors’ senior night.

On Tuesday, the fourthranked Warriors returned the favor, rallying to beat the seventh-ranked Cobras 15-25, 26-24, 25-13, 25-21

“It was a great match,” Jupiter coach Blane Betz said. “I always love playing (Park Vista coach Erica Green) because she’s awesome, she’s a great person and she always has a great team.

“It’s fun to have a good win against a really good team.”

The Warriors (9-2) got off on the wrong foot, as the Cobras (12-4) went on a 13-0 run to capture the first game.

“They weren’t really fighting for what they wanted,” Betz said. “I just told them: If you’re going to win tonight, you have to fight for it.”

The second game may have given the Jupiter coach déjà vu, as his team built a 21-14 lead only to watch Park Vista come screaming back. But the Warriors kept fighting. After the Cobras went ahead 24-23, Jupiter came back and claimed the set.

“We were playing a little better, and we just gave up a few points,” Betz said. “That’s the way volleyball goes.”

Jupiter claimed the final two games with more conviction to avoid a tiebreaking fifth game.

Senior Julia Lane paced the Warriors with 11 kills, while junior Madison Bono- core led the team with 21 digs. Junior Briana Nowakowski came off the bench to make five aces.

“We put Bri in, and she just stepped up and played amazing,” Betz said.

Jupiter still has a challenge ahead of it, with Wellington and Benjamin left on the regular-season schedule before the district tournament begins next week.

“It’s good because we’ve struggled a little bit lately,” Betz said. “It’s been nice tonight to know that they can play against a team that’s great with that much confidence, and we can carry that now into districts.”
