GRAND OPENING

The Westgate Community Farm ,in the Westgate neighborhood of suburban West Palm Beach at 1130 Wabasso Drive, is hosting a grand opening event for the community today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with food, music and children’s activities. There’ll be tours of the space and recruiting of residents for the community garden plots.

The project began in the winter of 2015-16 to revitalize a vacant lot and transform it into a lush, green community hub and a productive farm that will provide organically grown produce to residents in the community. This season the farm is ramping up to include education programs for youth, an apprenticeship program, community garden plots, and an on-site nursery and farm stand to provide neighbors with fresh food, as well as plants and soil.
