Area malls gearing up for holiday season

Halloween costumes and candy are still lining store shelves, but Palm Beach County’s shopping malls are already gearing up for the holiday shopping season.

The Mall at Wellington Green will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thanksgivi­ng Day. The mall will reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

Santa Claus is set to arrive at the Wellington mall on Nov. 10. He’ll make his grand entrance during a special pajama party, which begins at 6 p.m.

The mall will host a special “Soothing Santa” event on Nov. 18 for children with special needs who would enjoy a quieter and calmer visit with St. Nick. To reserve a spot, call 561-932-3938.

The Palm Beach Outlets in West Palm Beach will offer free photos with Santa. Santa arrives at the mall at 10 a.m. on Black Friday.

The outdoor shopping hub will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgivi­ng Day and remain open until 1 a.m. on Black Friday. The outlets will close for a brief period early Black Friday morning before reopening at 8 a.m.

The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens will remain closed on Thanksgivi­ng Day. The mall will be opened from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

The mall will hold its annual dance party to mark Santa’s arrival on Nov. 17. The event begins at 6 p.m. For admission, families are asked to bring one unwrapped toy, which will be donated to the Salvation Army.

The Boynton Beach Mall will celebrate Santa’s arrival on Nov. 25 at 10 a.m., mall officials said.
