- Post staff reports

Led by a dominant offensive line, Dwyer rolled to a 43-13 victory over Hialeah-Mater Academy in Friday’s first round of the Class 7A playoffs.

With the offensive line — particularly Ronald Folkes and Tyler Payne — opening consistent running lanes against Mater (6-5), Dwyer (8-2) totaled 274 rushing yards, including 151 yards and three touchdowns by Bobby Armes.

“They were getting after it and creating nice holes,” Dwyer coach Jack Daniels said of his offensive line.

The second-seeded Panthers advance to face thirdseeded Doral Academy on Friday night.

Pembroke Pines-West Broward 31, No. 9 Forest Hill 26: The fifth-seeded Falcons (8-2) entered the fourth quarter leading 26-17 after two long touchdown runs from Bryyon Jones and two more by Darius McClendon, but the fourthseeded Bobcats (8-2) rallied for the win in Pembroke Pines.

CLASS 8A

No. 2 Atlantic 29, Plantation 14: Running back Shelley Singletary ran for a touchdown and caught another as the Eagles (9-1) scored 21 unanswered points to defeat the Colonels (9-2) in Delray Beach.

The game was temporarily halted by lightning in the second quarter and rain fell through much of the game.

“You’ve got to get used to it,” Singletary said of the rain. “If you’re trying to go big, you’ve got to get used to (bad weather). You play in snow, you play in rain. That’s what we’re here for — we’re trying to make it.”

Fourth-seeded Atlantic advances to face eighth-seeded Park Vista on Friday night.

No. 6 Park Vista 28, Miramar 20: Atorian Perry caught a pair of touchdown passes from John Smith as the Cobras (8-2) held off the top-seeded Patriots (8-2) for an upset in Miramar.

CLASS 4A

University 44, Glades Central 21: Jymetre Hester had two touchdown receptions, but the Raiders (6-4) couldn’t stop the Sharks (8-1) in Davie. Despite the loss, Glades Central coach Jessie Hester said he was pleased with the season and is looking forward to 2018. “For the most part, I thought the kids played hard. I can see that the program is going in the right direction. We’ve got a lot of kids returning, so we should be a real hard out next year.”

CLASS 3A

No. 10 Benjamin 43, Homestead-Everglades Prep 6: Senior quarterback Jordan Travis threw four touchdown passes to lead the Buccaneers (8-2) over the Panthers (5-5) in Palm Beach Gardens.

“We’re just a very average team without Jordan,” Benjamin coach Ron Ream said of Travis, a Louisville commit. “He makes things happen. He picks the whole team up.”

The win advances Benjamin, the No. 2 seed in the region, to a showdown next week against top-seeded Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood. Chaminade routed American Heritage 38-0 Friday.

CLASS 2A

Moore Haven 42, Glades Day 35: Alex Mineo threw three touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores, but the fourth-seeded Gators (5-4) fell to the top-seeded Terriers (10-0) in Moore Haven.
