Jalen Hurts passed for 180 yards and three TDs in a little more than a quarter as the Tide (11-0) raced to a 35-0 halftime lead over the Bears (5-6). Freshman backup QB Tua Tagovailoa came in with just under 12 minutes left in the second quarter, exited early in the fourth and threw for three TDs.
■ No. 2 Clemson 61, The Citadel 3
Kelly Bryant threw for 230 yards and three TDs and was out of the game before halftime as the Tigers (10-1) routed the lower-division Bulldogs (5-6). Bryant completed 17 of 22 passes before Tigers coach Dabo Swinney started putting in backups before the end of the first half. Freshman Tee Higgins caught six passes for 178 yards and two TDs and freshman Travis Etienne ran eight times for 62 yards and two TDs as Clemson ended the game with 662 yards.

Malik Rosier threw three TD passes and ran for a score, and the Hurricanes pulled off their biggest comeback in five years by beating the Cavaliers (6-5, 3-4 ACC) to extend the nation’s longest winning streak to 15 games. Jaquan Johnson had an interception return for a TD for Miami (10-0, 7-0), which scored the game’s last 30 points. The Canes twice climbed out of two 14-point deficits, and finished their first 7-0 regular-season home record since 1988.

Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield threw for 257 yards and three TDs, leading the visiting Sooners (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) to a rout of the Jayhawks (1-10, 0-8).

Alex Hornibrook’s 24-yard TD pass to A.J. Taylor in the third quarter broke open a defensive slugfest, Kendric Pryor scored on an end-around, and the Badgers (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) beat the Wolverines (8-3, 5-3). Hornibrook finished 9 of 19 for 143 yards but bounced back from an interception early in the third quarter with some of his best throws of the season. Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor finished with 132 yards on 19 carries.
■ No. 6 Auburn 42, Louisiana-Monroe 14
Darius Slayton’s 50-yard scoring catch late in the first half gave the Tigers (9-2) a lead before they pulled away vs. the Warhawks (4-6). Kam Martin scored two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, in the third quarter. Nick Ruffin scored on a 45-yard interception return in the fourth.

Seniors Nick Chubb and Sony Michel led a dominant running game, and the Bulldogs (10-1, 7-1 SEC) bounced back from their first loss of the season by wearing down the visiting Wildcats (7-4, 4-4). Chubb rushed for 151 yards and two TDs, including a 55-yard burst down the sideline to seal the victory in the fourth quarter. Michel rambled for 87 yards and three scores — notably a 37-yard TD that sent the Bulldogs into the half with a 21-6 lead. Georgia finished with 381 yards rushing against the Wildcats (7-4, 4-4).

Brandon Wimbush threw for 164 yards and two TDs and ran for a score as the Fighting Irish (9-2) rallied in the rain to beat the Midshipmen (6-4) in South Bend, Ind.
■ No. 9 Ohio State 52, Illinois 14
Ohio State (9-2, 7-1) scored on its first six possessions — including J.T. Barrett’s 100th career TD pass — and routed the Illini to clinch the Big Ten East title. Barrett threw for two TDs, ran for another and became the Ohio State leader in rushing yards among QBs (3,070), eclipsing Braxton Miller.
Ohio State’s defense limited the Illini (2-9, 0-9) to a season-low 105 yards in handing them a ninth straight loss.

Saquon Barkley broke Penn State’s career TD record with three scores and had 208 of 224 total yards in the first half to lead the Nittany Lions (9-2, 6-2 Big Ten) over the visiting Cornhuskers (4-7, 3-5).
Trace McSorley ran for a TD and threw for 325 yards and three TDs for Penn State. Mike Gesicki caught two scoring passes and became Penn State’s career touchdowns leader by a tight end with 13.
■ No. 12 TCU 27, Texas Tech 3
True freshman QB Shawn Robinson ran for 84 yards and threw a key second-half TD in his first career start as the Horned Frogs (9-2, 6-2 Big 12) beat the Red Raiders (5-6, 2-6) at Lubbock, Texas, to stay in contention for a spot in the Big 12 Championship game. Robinson filled in for Kenny Hill, who didn’t make the trip to Lubbock because of an unspecified injury.
The Horned Frogs’ defense dominated, an effort capped by Jeff Gladney’s 93-yard interception return for a TD in the fourth quarter.
■ Kansas St. 45, No. 13 Oklahoma St. 40
Byron Pringle caught three TD passes and returned a kickoff for another score to help the Wildcats stun the Cowboys (8-3, 5-3 Big 12) in Stillwater, Okla. Oklahoma State nearly erased a 29-point deficit in the second half, but Kansas State (6-5, 4-4) held on to become bowl eligible for the eighth consecutive season.

McKenzie Milton threw four TD passes and ran for a score as the Knights (10-0, 7-0 American Athletic) took care of Temple (5-6, 3-4) in Philadelphia.

Nick Fitzgerald threw a 6-yard TD pass to Deddrick Thomas with 17 seconds remaining, and the Bulldogs (8-3, 4-3 SEC) survived a lackluster performance that included four fumbles for a road win over the Razorbacks (4-7, 1-6).

LJ Scott ran for 147 yards and a TD to lead the Spartans (8-3, 6-2 Big Ten) to a snowy victory over Maryland (4-7, 2-6).

John Wolford threw his third TD pass of the game to Tabari Hines with 8:03 remaining, and the Demon Deacons (7-4, 4-3 ACC) held on to upset the Wolfpack (7-4, 5-2).
■ No. 20 LSU 30, Tennessee 10
Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams combined to run for 165 yards and three TDs as the visiting Tigers (8-3, 5-2 SEC) beat the Vols (4-7, 0-7), who were playing their first game under interim coach Brady Hoke after the firing of Butch Jones.
The Vols must beat Vanderbilt next week to avoid their first eight-loss season in school history and first winless SEC season since the league’s formation in 1933.

Darrell Henderson rushed for 147 yards, including two long TDs, and Riley Ferguson threw for 320 yards and two scores and also scored on three runs as the Tigers (9-1, 6-1) claimed the American Athletic Conference West Division championship by beating the Mustangs (6-4, 3-4).

Clayton Thorson had three TD passes, Justin Jackson added 166 yards rushing on 31 carries, and the Wildcats forced five turnovers on defense (8-3, 6-2 Big Ten) as they won their sixth straight, beating the Gophers (5-6, 2-6).
