Mayor Maria Marino named Woman of the Year
The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Council held the 7th Annual Woman of the Year Luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place. WPBF’s Stephanie Berzinski served as the emcee for the second consecutive year.
The 2017 finalists included Kimberly Lea, President of Keiser University’s West Palm Beach Campus, Maria Marino, Mayor, City of Palm Beach Gardens, and Chelsea Reed, Business Manager at Palm Beach Spine Institute.
The finalists represent the very best of women in the community demonstrating a commitment to the Palm Beach North community by inspiring community-wide support and exemplifying the highest standards of business and community leadership positively impacting the growth of the Palm Beach North Region.
Maria Marino, Mayor, City of Palm Beach Gardens was selected by a secret selection committee and named 2017 Woman of the Year.
“It is an honor to be in the company of so many accomplished women. It is obvious that the women in our community are leading by example and touching the lives of so many,” said Mayor Marino.
“You can be a huge success in business, but what have you done for your community?” she asks. “At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about.”
The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce serves 10 municipalities — Juno Beach, Jupiter, Jupiter Inlet Colony, Lake Park, Mangonia
Park, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens,
Palm Beach Shores, Riviera Beach and Tequesta — that together are Palm Beach North. The Chamber is one of the largest and most active business organizations in Southeast Florida. The Woman of the Year luncheon was sponsored by Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and the Skye Center for Dermatology.
