Canine competitors will ride the wild surf this weekend
Got a playful pup that loves to shred the waves?
How about an older dog with great style that will maybe sneak those paws up over the nose?
Then don’t deny them the chance to show off those moves at the Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch 3rd Annual Hang 20 Surf Dog Classic.
This fantastic event will be held at Carlin Park in Jupiter and is loads of fun for dogs and owners.
There will be a Vendor Village featuring an assortment of pet-related items and services, a Blessing of the Animals by Rev. Mike Peratta, steel drums, a D J and the surfing event itself.
The surfing will feature five heats beginning at 8:30 a.m. with categories for small, medium and large dogs and stand-up paddleboards as well as the new heat for veterans, first responders and K-9 officers and their dogs.
Hungry? The Bark and Brunch opens at 9 a.m. and will have great food and beverages provided by Carrabba’s, Cod & Capers Seafood, Another Broken Egg, Tito’s Vodka, Voga, and Oceana Coffee.
The event, sponsored by Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center, will benefit Furry Friends, which has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehousing homeless animals in Palm Beach County for more than 30 years.
When: 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
Where: 400 Florida A1A, Jupiter
