Modern Luxury has named Jamie Altschul as named publisher of Modern Luxury Palm Beach. She will oversee the magazine’s launch, and the publicatio­n’s business functions on print and digital platforms. Prior to Modern Luxury, Altschul was launch publisher for Wall Street Magazine and Conde Nast Media Group’s executive director. She has also held positions at Vanity Fair and Town and Country. Most recently, Altschul worked as executive director for GQ and The New Yorker.

Modern Luxury has also named Jayne Chase as editorin-chief. She will oversee and shape the publicatio­n’s editorial and creative content. Chase began her career at Conde Nast’s Glamour and Vanity Fair magazines and then moved to serve as internatio­nal editor at Harper’s Bazaar for Hearst Publicatio­ns. Chase’s other experience­s include working as communicat­ions director of J. Crew and co-hosting the Martha Stewart Morning Living Radio Show on Sirius. She volunteers for United Way of Palm Beach County.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Young Singers of the Palm Beaches has announced a new board of directors for the 201718 season. Bert Winkler

has been selected

board president.

He is a criminal justice analyst for the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission. He has been practicing law in the county for 35 years.

Dave Frankland has been

named vice president. He is chief strategy officer at Selligent. He also owns a boutique wine and craft beer store, Vinoutlet, in Palm Beach.

Other board members are Victoria McCullough, Ken Dwyer, Sue Llende, Larry Bernstein, Karmin Cassanelli, Tasha Dickinson, Danielle Igoe, Gary Lesser, Timothy McAlice

and Hank Gonzalez. Delray Beach Downtown Developmen­t Authority

has appointed two board members. Mavis Benson is owner of Avalon Gallery in Delray Beach. She is chair of the Downtown Merchant & Business Associatio­n.

John Conde is owner of The Conde Center for Chiropract­ic Neurology. He is a board certified chiropract­ic neurologis­t and a diplomat of the American Chiropract­ic Neurology Board. He is a chairman’s club member of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce.

ENGINEERIN­G

Patrick Meeds has been named senior surveyor at Stantec’s West Palm Beach office. He has over 40 years of experience in surveying on transporta­tion, energy, environmen­tal, and hydrograph­ic projects throughout the state. He has worked with the South Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Transporta­tion, Florida Department of Correction­s, Florida Department of Environmen­tal Protection Agency, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservanc­y, local municipali­ties, ports and marinas. Meeds is a registered profession­al surveyor and mapper in Florida and a registered profession­al traffic operations engineer. He is past director of the Palm Beach Chapter of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society.

MARKETING

Shawn McAskill has joined Keenabilit­y as chief marketing officer. He will oversee the implementa­tion and success of the company’s marketing efforts. He has a background in analytics. Keenabilit­y is located in Boca Raton.

RECOGNITIO­N

Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County has been awarded nonprofit of the year by Nonprofits First. The organizati­on was recognized for its excellence in delivering Habitat’s mission and for operating a budget of more than $2.5 million. The organizati­on’s programs serve Palm Beach County.

Brightline has earned the Eagle Award by the Associated Builders and Contractor­s Florida East Coast Chapter. The passenger rail system has stations in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and other South Florida locations.

Lumitec has been awarded an Innovation Award by the Internatio­nal Boatbuilde­rs Exhibition and Conference. The company was recognized for its power line instructio­n technology. The technology is used to communicat­e protocols to the company’s luminaries. Lumitec is headquarte­red in Delray Beach.
