HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING, CONCERT AND PARADE
■ The Community Redevelopment Agency and the city will kick off a series of holiday events on Friday with Movies in the Park featuring “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” at 7 p.m. at the Ocean Avenue Amphitheatre, 129 E. Ocean Ave.
■ On Saturday, the city will host the 47th Holiday Parade at 4 p.m., along Federal Highway from Southeast 12th Street to Ocean Avenue and Fourth Street. The parade includes appearances by high school marching bands, floats, drill teams, dance groups and Santa Claus.
■ At 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the CRA will host the Holiday Tree Lighting and Concert. The tree-lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. The tree is 50 feet tall. Children’s activities include a big slide, bounce house, free face-painters and balloon artists, with a special visit from Santa and his elves for photos. Holiday vendors and food and beverage vendors will be available. The event is at 129 East Ocean Ave. For information, visit CatchBoynton.com.
■ On Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., the Boynton Beach Mall is inviting pets — only dogs and cats — to take a photo with Santa in the Center Court. The price varies. Pets may enter through the Food Court entrance or back entrance near H&M. The pets must be on a leash or in a carrier and well-behaved.
■ The mall is hosting Family Game Night on Friday at 5 p.m. in the food court. The event is free and ends at 8 p.m. Games will be provided. The mall is at 801 N. Congress Ave. For information, call 561-736-7902.
■ The Barnes & Noble store is hosting a Children’s Storytime event Friday at 7 p.m. Children are invited to come to the store in their pajamas to read “The Polar Express.” Coloring and activities will follow.
MIGRATION CELEBRATION
Saturday is the 10th year the Friends of Green Cay Nature Center is hosting the Migration Celebration. This year’s theme is “Helping Birds along the Way,” celebrating the importance of migratory bird stopover sites such as Green Cay. Activities include face painting, educational exhibitors, family-friendly lectures and guided tours. The free event is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, 12800 Hagen Ranch Rd.
