Mini-golf is coming to Downtown Abacoa.

The premier putt at the 18-hole course should be in the summer, said Downtown Abacoa owner Josh Simon.

“There will be a food shack that will have rotating items from different restaurants in Abacoa,” said Simon of the course being built on a vacant lot at the northeast corner of Main Street and Chancellor Drive.

The Downtown Abacoa mini-golf course will be managed by Patti Bartoli, who with her husband Greg, operates Lighthouse Cove mini-golf on A1A in Jupiter.

The 36-hole Lighthouse Cove miniature golf course, which recently expanded, opened in 2013. The $1 million expansion, including renovations to the mini-golf course, includes a playground and aquarium.

Other recent and upcoming developments in Abacoa:

Construction is expected to start next year on the $22 million plan for Cinebowl & Grille, an entertainment center with restaurants, bowling lanes, pool tables and a movie theater.

The 2018 spring training baseball season at Roger Dean Stadium is scheduled to start Feb. 23 with a game between the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals.

The Hakkaido Hibachi & Sushi restaurant just completed a $300,000 makeover. The restaurant installed new lighting, grills, dining counters, indoor and outdoor seating at the 250-seat restaurant.

The Stadium Grill restaurant just reopened after a $300,000 makeover. There are new tables and chairs, the upstairs and downstairs bars have been replaced, 32 television sets have been installed and there are new restrooms.

A mural of a giant swimmer, the flowing ocean and — what else? — the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse was finished in October on the 100-foot-long outside wall of an Abacoa parking garage. The blue, yellow, red and white mural off Town Center Drive is about 20 feet at its highest point. The mural tapers down to about 4 feet high on the side that features a woman swimming with brown hair flowing behind her.
