Week 3 for boys basketball is in the books.

Five ranked teams remain unbeaten, while a sixth is just outside the Top 10.

No. 1 Dwyer, No. 2 Lake Worth, No. 3 Wellington and No. 4 Suncoast held on to the top four spots in this week’s poll, while unbeaten Forest Hill entered at No. 10. Saint John Paul II Academy, at 6-0, also was considered and could crack the Top 10 in upcoming weeks.

The rest of the top 10 includes Santaluces, Benjamin, Atlantic, Spanish River, and Palm Beach Lakes.

The upcoming holiday break will be busy with a handful of tournaments featuring area teams. We’ll preview those tournaments later this week and also next week.

As for this week, the schedule is a light one, as all the area’s students are taking exams.

The top two remain in place in this week’s Post Top 10, as Palm Beach Lakes won in a blowout in a big district matchup against then-No. 5 West Boca Raton, and Oxbridge Academy won its three games last week.

Below those two are 7-3 Boca Raton (correcting their loss total from last week), Santaluces and Benjamin to round out the top five. Santaluces has rolled after dropping a pair of games to Park Vista and Boca, while Benjamin’s only loss came to No. 2 Oxbridge.

Wellington moves up to No. 6 this week after taking down then-No. 3 Gardens, which drops to No. 7. West Boca Raton struggled mightily against Lakes. With just five wins (fewer than any other ranked team), the Bulls fall to No. 10.

Moving up one spot is reigning Class2A state champion Grandview Prep, and entering the Top 10 as Lake Worth drops out is Jupiter, whichhas won fourstraight.

Some games to keep an eye on this week include Cardinal Newman at No. 4 Santaluces (Thursday, 7 p.m.), No. 6 Wellington at Royal Palm Beach (Thursday, 7:30 p.m.) and No. 10 West Boca Raton at St. Andrew’s (Friday, 3:30 p.m.).
