Dashing hither and yon!
Over the river and through the woods to another parking lot we go. It’s that time of year to remember the Golden Rule of hospitality for our fellow man. There’s no need to be aggressive on the road, much less in a crowded parking lot. As for parking lot etiquette: if the car next to you is too close, no need to add to the array of dings and dents that keep our automotive body shops so busy.
On a festive note, Notables took in the scene at two new boites in Palm Beach. Honor Bar is a happy addition to the many offerings at the recently refreshed shopping destination, The Royal Poinciana Plaza. Honor Bar, with a casual, affordable twist on bistro classics, originated from the Hillstone Group, the same people behind Palm Beach Grill. Snow-loving jet-setters will recognize it as the doppelganger for
The White House Tavern in Aspen. The famed French Dip “au jus” makes the cut, as does the to-die-for crispy chicken
sandwich, with portions so large they must be shared.
Notables also enjoyed a lucky turn as invited guest at the opening of the renovated and refurbished Cucina, on historic Royal Poinciana Way. With the Flagler Memorial Bridge complete and Bradley Park enjoying its spectacular remodel, thanks to the efforts of the Preservation Society of Palm Beach, Cucina’s reopening could not have been better timed.
The décor is sleek, chic and sophisticated, with a beautiful bar. Many seating options welcome guests to an array of delicious bites. Chef Kent Thurston’s ahi tacos and the duck bun with Thai basil coleslaw are absolute standouts. The restaurant’s affordable wine list adds to the spirited festivity.
Bon Appetit!
