Lake Worth’s Art Studio Cafe has found a new home.

The popular gathering spot will be moving to 16 S. J Street, owner Maria Paz said in an email statement.

“We are excited about the new location (and) being more downtown,” she said.

Paz could not be reached for additional comment.

She told The Palm Beach Post earlier this month that the 800-square-foot cafe on Second Avenue North would close Dec. 14.

Patti Sheldon, Paz’s landlord, had texted her on the Sunday after Thanksgiving to tell Paz she would not renew the lease.

Sheldon said the lease ends Jan. 14.

Mike Olive, pastor of Common Ground Church and owner of the church’s coffee shop only a few doors down from where Paz’s business is moving, said he’s looking forward to his new neighbor.

“We look forward to J Street becoming a great spot for people to come,” he said.

The Art Studio Cafe opened March 1, replacing the popular Mother Earth Sanctuary Cafe, which had been at the location for close to 10 years.

The studio served as a gallery in which Paz, who paints portraits and murals, could display her works along with those of up to 10 other artists.

The works range from paintings to pottery. Handmade jewelry was also on display and for sale.
