The Colony Hotel hosted over 80 parents and children for a morning of merriment and cheer at the inaugural Brunch with Santa benefitting Red Sneakers for Oakley. With Santa seated front and center, kids of all ages brunched on a delicious menu of nut-free offerings. Red Sneakers for Oakley is a non-profit organization founded by Merrill and Robert Debbs in memory of their son, Oakley, dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of food allergies through the creation of educational and community outreach programs, and national allergy advocacy.
Newly minted Colony Hotel owners, Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall graciously greeted guests including, Sara Gilbane Sullivan and husband Jay Sullivan, with their son James Sullivan and daughter Virginia Sullivan; and Tatiana and Campion Platt with their two daughters Riva Platt and Xenia Platt, and son Fox Platt.
The nut-free menu included waffles, mac n’ cheese casserole, mini grilled cheese, and gluten free pancakes. Each little one had their own special time with Santa, posing for pictures while letting Santa know exactly what was on their wish list and what they hoped to see under the tree. Departing with photos in hand, the children also received author Susan Beaty’s latest book, ‘Lukes Story’ and holiday cookies. Not to leave out the parents, everyone also received a Colony Holiday ornament.
