WEST PALM BEACH — A Central Florida man remained in the Palm Beach County Jail early Thursday after he allegedly sent hundreds of violent threats to two suburban West Palm Beach business owners.

Angel Elias Gaston, 32, of Leesburg, is facing charges of aggravated stalking, obscene communication, intimidation and extortion and is being held on $13,000 bail.

A Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s Office report says Gaston began making threats in October toward his former employers at NNN Investment Advisors on North Haverhill Road, alleging that the owners owed him more than $100,000.

Gaston alleged that the money was compensation for his assistance in selling a property.

The first threatening calls were made Oct. 11 and Gaston phoned in so frequently — hundreds in a single day — that he filled up the voicemail accounts of several people at the business, the report said.

Gaston threatened to kill the owners after they contacted law enforcement, saying in one message: “You ain’t gonna hide behind no badge ... go ahead and call the cops. Ain’t no cops gonna be standing in front of me and my money.”

Gaston also allegedly phoned in threats of sexual assault, targeting the female half of the business owners.

When a sheriff’s deputy phoned Gaston to speak to him about the threatening messages, Gaston became angry and vulgar, “showing no concern or respect for authority, or concern of the possibility of criminal charges.”

Gaston was ordered by a judge during a Christmas Day court appearance at the jail not to have any contact either with his former employers or their business.
