Anti-violence walk with cops; celebrate new year

-

Police officers and community leaders will take to the streets of downtown Delray Beach on Saturday and stand together against violence.

The peaceful demonstration, called the Walk Against Violence, is in its fourth year. Last year, more than 250 people marched shoulder to shoulder from the city’s community center, on Northwest First Avenue just north of Atlantic Avenue, to Pompey Park, on Northwest Second Street about two blocks north of Atlantic.

The walk is meant to build a bridge between community members and police to help solve and prevent violent crimes.
