EDUCATION
Palm Beach Atlantic University has named Chelly Templeton dean of the School of Education and Behavioral Studies. She served as interim dean since August 2017. Templeton has worked for the university since 1999, where she has filled the positions of adjunct professor, assistant professor, clinical supervisor, coordinator of early childhood programs, and supervisor of student teachers. She served as associate dean from 2011 to 2013. Templeton earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Kentucky, a Master of Arts degree in early childhood education from Marshall University and a Doctor of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in early childhood from Florida Atlantic University. She serves on the on the board of the YWCA.

Matthew Kissner has joined
the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches board of directors. He is a member of Broad and Cassel’s corporate finance and intellectual property practice groups. Kissner also serves on the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association Transaction Law Committee, The Florida Bar Committee on Technology, and Florida State University Alumni Association. Sophia A. Nelson has been
appointed to the West Palm Beach Police Athletic League’s
board of directors. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing, branding and public relations. Nelson’s business, S.A. Nelson and Associates, does work around the nation and in the Caribbean. She was a nominee for 2012 Event Professional of the Year as well as a nominee for the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2011 and 2012.

Architecture has hired Christine Stivers as a project manager of government services at the firm’s Palm Beach Gardens office. She previously worked for Palm Beach County’s zoning and land development divisions as a senior planner and project coordinator. Stivers has over 25 years of experience in land development, site planning and construction detailing. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in landscape architecture from West Virginia University.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Clinics Can Help has named Jason Pizzo to its board of directors. He will serve on the finance and strategic planning committees, and will help lead the organization’s CRIBS project, which provides safe cribs for newborns and infants. Pizzo is a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County’s class of 2016. He works in project management, customer account management, sales management and technology consulting for I.T. Solutions, and served in the airborne division of the U.S. Army as a telecommunications engineer.
Matt Macon has been selected to chair
the March of Dimes’ Palm Beach-East Central Coast Market 2018 board of directors. He will help raise awareness and funds for scientific research and educational programs. Macon is a customer experience architect at Florida Power & Light Company, where he is responsible for overseeing large, cross-functional projects aimed at improving customer service experiences. He has 19 years of experience at FPL. Macon received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial systems and engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Neil H. Fishman was elected to the
Board of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners for 2017-18. He is a CPA at Fishman Associates in Boynton Beach.
HEALTH
The Drug Abuse Treatment Association has promoted J. Jay Flicker to chief compliance officer. He has worked in the behavioral health field for 15 years, and previously served as director of quality assurance for the organization. Flicker earned a Doctor in Psychology degree from Florida Institute of Technology.
HOSPITALITY
Michelle Lepore has been hired by
PGA National Resort and Spa as the Midwest account director. She previously was a senior sales manager at Tideline Ocean Resort and Spa, and worked at Sonesta Hotels and Resorts. Lepore obtained her education at Florida State University.

Tayler Novick has been promoted to human resources manager at Kaufman
Lynn Construction. She will have increased responsibilities in employee relations, safety, recruiting and staffing, training, policy development and documentation, performance management and compensation. Before Kaufman, Novick worked in recruiting in the medical field and fashion industry. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Florida International University.

Caryn A. Stevens is an associate who focuses on marital and family law. Prior to practicing law, Stevens worked in the mental health field. She is a member of The Florida Bar and the Susan Greenberg Family Law Inns of Court. She earned a master’s and Education Specialist in counseling and human systems, and a bachelor’s in psychology from Florida State University. Stevens earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University.
Ana Moretto practices family law, medical malpractice defense and business law. She is a member of the Florida Bar, Massachusetts Bar and American Bar Association. Moretto was granted a fellowship through the New England Law Boston’s Center for Business Law to intern with the Boston Planning and Development Agency’s office of the general counsel. She earned a bachelor’s in political science from Salem State University and Juris Doctor from New England Law at Boston.
RETAIL
Downtown at the Gardens has hired two. Adam Sich has been named regional general manager. His responsibilities include managing tenant relationships and meetings, as well as monitoring tenant compliance. In addition, Sich will represent the centers in the local retail community, and establish and maintain open and productive communication with tenants, vendors and community leaders.
Erin Devlin has been named marketing manager, where she will utilize her retail experience to create and implement marketing, advertising, promotional campaigns and events for the property. She has an extensive retail background, which includes the role of special events and PR director for The Gardens Mall.
RECOGNITION
Marinemax received a 100 percent rating in the customer satisfaction index
for Boston Whaler for 2017. The business is a recreational boat and yacht retailer with a location in Palm Beach.
Barry S. Balmuth has been recertified by The Florida Bar for a fourth fiveyear term as a board certified specialist in both civil trial and business litigation law.
Peter Lamelas received the 2017 Community Leadership Award. He was recognized by the Hispanic Education Coalition of Palm Beach and the José Martí Foundation for his work as a physician and entrepreneur.
