Arrest made in Greenacres hit-and-run that killed two
WEST PALM BEACH — With three women in his silver Porsche and Palm Beach County sheriff ’s authorities just off his trail, “Dred” flew past a Greenacres stop sign early on Dec. 23 and into a Honda CRV.
His passengers later told authorities the 24-year-old topped 100 mph in the luxury car. Sheriff ’s records indicate he was well over the 30 mph speed limit when he collided with the CRV at about 3:30 a.m. in a neighborhood near John I. Leonard High School.
Two men — Juan Carlos Valasques, 29, and Angel Xon, 47 — were killed after being thrown from the CRV. Three other people were injured in the violent crash that was captured on surveillance cameras.
Jaherald Saint Dic and his three passengers ran, according to Sheriff ’s Office records, and left the Porsche behind.
Saint Dic was arrested Monday afternoon on charges of vehicular homicide, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash involving death. An assistant state attorney who saw video of the crash said in court Tuesday, “I’ve never seen a car driven that fast.”
Saint Dic was being held in the Palm Beach County Jail late Tuesday on $1.3 million bail. If he is released, Judge Dina Keever-Agrama ordered that he be placed on in-house arrest and that he wear an ankle monitor.
Sheriff ’s authorities said they tried to pull over Saint Dic on 10th Avenue North before the fatal wreck because he was speeding and driving without lights. They stopped pursuing him about a mile from the fatal crash scene, near Military Trail.
Authorities caught up with Saint Dic’s passengers who confirmed that “Dred” — they didn’t know his real name — had been driving without the headlights on while speeding north on Swain Boulevard toward Second Street.
Video of the crash recorded by Family Grocery’s surveillance camera shows the SUV whip around in just fractions of a second. Debris sprays off. The rear driver-side door comes open, and at least one person flies out, landing near an ice cooler at the grocery store. A wheel comes off the SUV and rolls, coming to rest not far from the motionless person. The force of the crash ripped out chunks of the sidewalk.
Saint Dic was gone when authorities arrived. One of his passengers, though, remem- bered that Dred lived in the Waterway Village Apartments by Cresthaven Boulevard and Jog Road. Authorities tracked down his roommate, who also only knew him by his nickname.
He’d just gotten puppies, his roommate recalled. While at the home, sheriff ’s author- ities found a bill from a trip to a veterinarian addressed to Saint Dic.
Valasques and Xon, both of subur b an West P alm Beach, worked together for more than a decade at Good Greek Moving and Storage. The other three people in the CRV at the time of the fatal crash also worked for the moving company, said Spero Georgedakis.

devastating,” Georgedakis said of the deaths of Valasques and Xon. “They really were friends with everyone.”
Saint Dic has previously been arrested for grand theft, leaving the scene of a crash with damage and reckless driving. He served about a year in jail after pleading guilty to fleeing from police in 2015 and hitting multiple cars as he did.
Records indicate he also had several traffic citations for failing to stop at a red light, driving in the wrong lane and driving on either a suspended or revoked license, according to Palm Beach County court records.
