1. Science of Chocolate. The 13th annual Science of Chocolate at the Science Center is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, 4801 Dreher Trail North. Guests experience how chocolate is made, learn the chemical properties of the sweet treat and discover the potential health benefits. A never-ending chocolate fountain will be a treat for everyone. Activities will include chocolate trivia with prizes, liquid nitrogen chocolate ice cream demos, workshops, and chocolate-related crafts as well as a scavenger hunt.

2. Jonathan Evans speaking. Jonathan Evans, the ousted former city manager of Riviera Beach, will be the keynote speaker at an ex-felon re-entry program fundraising dinner Saturday. The dinner, hosted by Riviera Beach-based Thrive For A Change of the Palm Beaches, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndam, 301 Lamberton Drive in West Palm Beach. Tickets are $55 each. Evans began as Riviera Beach’s city manager in March 2017 and was fired six months later. That vote has led to citywide chaos and a resident-inspired recall effort against the three City Council members who fired him.

The speech may also be considered a farewell address. That’s because Evans accepted the position of manager in Madeira Beach last week and starts Feb. 26.

3. The Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antiques Show opens to the public Thursday at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, 650 Okeechobee Blvd. The hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., except on Feb. 20, when the show closes at 6 p.m. For information: PalmBeachShow.com.
