Flagler Shore not packing them in

-

Does anyone actually monitor the use of the Flagler Drive “experiment” on a day to day, hourly basis?

As random examples, we drove its length on a recent Saturday at 12:45 p.m., a mild, sunny day, and there was one man positioned on a folding deck chair to get the maximum sun, on the whole expanse. No walkers, no bikers, not another creature.

Last Monday, a warm and sunny day, we drove the complete length at 4 p.m. There was one man walking his dog in the complete length of the drive. Not another human being on the lonely expanse.

Last Tuesday: perfect balmy sunny day, 9:15 a.m. Two walkers, possibly going to the waterfront, one bicycle and one jogger on total expanse.

At 11 a.m., astonishingly, completely empty.

On all four occasions, there was a leisurely mix of all categories along the waterfront walk.

Is this really answering a need in the community or is it nothing more than a concept? Let’s get real. FREDERICK VAN POZNAK, WEST PALM BEACH
