N.C. State topples Seminoles
Allerik Freeman scored 25 points to help North Carolina State beat No. 25 Florida State 92-72 on Sunday night in Raleigh, N.C.
Torin Dorn added 19 points and Sam Hunt had 14 for the Wolfpack (20-9, 10-6 Atlantic Coast Conference), who opened the game with a 9-2 spurt and never trailed.
N.C. State won its fourth consecutive ACC regular-season game in the same season for the first time since 2006.
The Wolfpack shot 50 percent from the floor, including 13 of 22 from 3-point range.
Trent Forrest led Florida State (19-9, 8-8) with 16 points. Braian Angola scored 14 points for the Seminoles, who were 0 for 15 from 3-point range.
Florida 72, No. 12 Auburn 66: KeVaughn Allen bounced back from his first scoreless game in more than three years with 24 points, including two huge 3-pointers in the closing minutes, as Florida beat No. 12 Auburn on the road Saturday night.
Jalen Hudson added 19 points for the Gators, including a pivotal three-point play with 26.8 seconds remaining.
It was Florida’s 11th consecutive win in the series and a huge boost to the team’s NCAA Tournament resume.
Florida Atlantic 74, North Texas 54: Florida Atlantic sent its seniors out in style Saturday night with an easy win over North Texas. The win in Boca Raton clinched a Conference USA tournament berth for the Owls (12-16, 6-10).
Julian Massey scored a game-high 24 points and added five rebounds for FAU and Gerdarius Troutman added 19 points.
