Trump back in PBC this weekend raising funds for re-election, GOP
Expect President Donald Trump to return to his Mara-Lago estate in Palm Beach this weekend.
He’s slated to appear at fundraisers for the Republican National Committee and his 2020 re-election campaign. And the Federal Aviation Administration on Monday sent out a notice to “expect VIP movement March 2-3” and airspace restrictions in the vicinity of Palm Beach.
The FAA posting is to be removed Sunday.
Trump was scheduled to headline a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago on Jan. 20 — the first anniversary of his swearing-in — but canceled to remain in Washington during a brief federal government shutdown.
In Trump’s absence, the Jan. 20 event went on with son Eric Trump, daughterin-law Lara Trump and RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel as hosts and raised about $5 million for the RNC and Trump’s campaign.
The RNC’s annual spring retreat for major donors is scheduled for Friday through Sunday at an undisclosed site in Palm Beach. Invitations to the event advertise an appearance by Trump, who also spoke to the gathering last year at the Four Seasons Resort.
Aside from the RNC event, the Trump campaign has scheduled a Saturday fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. Tickets start at $2,700 to attend a reception with the president. Those who raise $25,000 also get two tickets to a dinner with Trump and those who bundle $50,000 get dinner tickets and a photo with the president. Trump has made 13 trips to Mar-a-Lago since becoming president
