A man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly threatened two men with a gun inside a popular Wellington restaurant and then fired one shot in the parking lot, deputies said.

Palm Beach County Sheriff deputies responded to Suri West restaurant on South Shore Boulevard at about 8:30 p.m. to reports of a man, later identified to be 24-year-old Christian Paz, armed inside with a gun.

While stopped at a red light, deputies heard the sound of a gunshot and screaming coming from the parking lot of the business, according to the arrest report. They detained Paz in the park

ing lot and confiscated a .45-caliber handgun in a grassy area—

directly in front of the restaurant, the report states.

Two men told deputies that Paz threatened both of them with a gun inside the restaurant. One of the victims said he noticed Paz standing in a corner near the bar area holding a gun and yelling words he could not make out. The other victim then asked Paz “if he was serious” and Paz

pointed the gun at him saying “he was going to kill him,” according to the report. Paz then pointed the gun at the other victim. Both victims said they saw Paz leave

and then heard a gunshot. No one was injured. Paz was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in public.
