WEST PALM BEACH — A third person has died from inju- ries sustained in a shooting March 2 in suburban West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County sheriff ’s authorities said Monday.

Jenny Pierre-Louis, 21, died Sunday, nearly two weeks after Javonte Carter allegedly shot her and killed her mother about 4 p.m. that day at the Westgate home the women shared.

Authorities have called the women’s deaths homi- cides. However, they have not commented on how Carter, a 22-year-old Fort Lauderdale resident, sustained his fatal gunshot wound that afternoon in the 2900 block of Hiawatha Avenue.

Authorities found 54-year- old Sylvie Louis’ body first, outside her Westgate home south of Okeechobee Boulevard and west of Military Trail. They later found Car- ter’s body and Pierre-Louis seriously injured.

Sheriff ’s authorities haven’t commented on a potential motive in the fatal shootings, nor have they said whether they suspect anyone else is involved in the killings.

The fatal shootings of Louis and Pierre-Louis bring to 20 the number of confirmed homicides in Palm Beach County this year, according to a Palm Beach Post online database. There were 102 confirmed homicides in the county during 2017, according to the database.
