WEST PALM BEACH — jealousy appears to be behind a shooting Saturday night in West Palm Beach that left his wife in critical condition and a man dead.

“Why you cheating on me?” Robert Finney could be heard saying on a 911 call after he allegedly shot Roqueria Mills, 20, according to a city police report released Monday.

Finney, who turns 36 today, is being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail and is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Finney is accused of killing Robert Anthony III, 20, and shooting Mills. All three are residents of Wellington.

Records show that Finney and Mills were in the final stages of a divorce.

Mills and Anthony were sitting in Finney’s vehicle outside the Village Place Apartments on Brandywine Road shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday when they were allegedly shot by Finney.

As West Palm Beach police arrived at the scene, they saw Finney performing CPR on Mills inside the vehicle, the report said.

“I did it,” Finney allegedly said. “Help her!”

The report states that Finney had a 9mm handgun in his pants’ pocket when he was arrested.

During Finney’s appearance in court Monday, an unidentified woman sobbed, then screamed and cursed at the accused killer. The woman was asked to leave and was escorted outside Judge Ted Booras’ courtroom by Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s deputies. Court records show that Finney and Mills were married on Aug. 8, 2016. They both filed for divorce Feb. 21 with a final hearing set for April 13.

The report states that Finney and Mills were at a nightclub Friday night, where Mills met Anthony.

Mills and Anthony met the next evening in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 2111 Brandywine Road, just west of Interstate 95 and north of Okeechobee Boulevard. A witness told police she drove Finney to the apartment complex because Finney wanted to retrieve his vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Scion.

After entering the complex, Finney got out of the witness’ car and found the Toyota. Finney opened the vehicle’s back door and fired two shots, the witness told police.

Finney told the witness that he shot his wife twice. The witness saw a man later identified as Anthony get out of the front passenger’s door and run off.

Anthony, who turned 20 the day before his death, was found inside an apartment at the complex. He was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he died.

Mills remained in critical condition at St. Mary’s on Monday, according to a hospital spokesman.

Finney called 911 and told the operator that he shot his wife.

As police were investigating, Finney told officers that “there were only two people shot. The guy ran, and there are two casings in the car.”

Finney said he thought his vehicle was stolen and that he tracked it to the apartment complex.

“Once I got there, I ran up to my car, I saw my wife and blacked out,” Finney said, according to the arrest report. “When I came to, it was too late.”

Finney, who lists his occupation as barber in the arrest report, has been arrested twice before for misdemeanors. On April 19, 2009, Finney was tased and accused of resisting arrest without violence after he refused an order from a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy to get out of his vehicle. The charge was later dropped.

Finney was also arrested Nov. 21, 2006, and faced charges of battery and criminal mischief. Those charges were also dropped.
