Staying visible, vigilant at Palm Beach Pride
Palm Beach County’s largest gay and lesbian visibility event since 1992, the popular two-day Palm Beach Pride event exemplifies the strength and growth of the gay and lesbian community and highlights the more than 140 area businesses that stand by their community and welcome their business.
Originally held at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, the now massive event moved to Lake Worth’s Bryant Park in 2000.
This year, Palm Beach Pride will feature music, dancing, singing and the mile-long LGBTQ Pride Parade from downtown Lake Worth to Bryant Park on Sunday.
This year’s parade theme is “Rainbow Resistance,” in response to the current political climate and its infringement on the forward progress of the LGBTQ community, said a release from organizers.
Entertainment will include U.S. Billboard Play artist CeCe Peniston, Scarlett Santana from the group C+C Music Factory and singer Sammulous from NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
There will also be local celebrities from the KVJ show on 97.9 WRMF as well as international DJ Citizen Jane and Velvet Lenore.
