Exciting developments continue at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. During the annual Gardens Conservancy reception, “Evening in the Gardens,” Frances Fisher, ANSG Board Chairman and Gardens Conservancy Founder, announced plans for an outdoor classroom space. She thanked the Batchelor Foundation, and she announced a generous gift from Becky and David Gochman, the 2018 Ann Norton Award for Philanthropy honorees.

Launched in 2014, the Gardens Conservancy honors Ann Norton’s legacy by cultivating community partnerships to enhance educational programs and awareness of the Gardens, and by implementing horticultural projects to maintain the property as a vibrant feature of the community.

SMI Landscape Architecture will assist ANSG with plans to refurbish several areas of the garden and to improve the visitor experience. Special focus will be placed on the thousands of Palm Beach County schoolchildren that visit the twoacre oasis yearly.

The project will begin construction over the summer and will include both the outdoor classroom area, and several additional features: refurbishment of an existing reflecting pool, the addition of a new student entry, and growth of the rare plant collection to reconnect the historical and biological relationships intended in the original Gardens mission statement.

The replenishment program has been continuously supported by Gentleman of the Gardens, a charitable group within the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens community.
