New teeth can be had quickly

- IMPLANT AND RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY Mitchel Senft, DMD, DICOI

Question: Can I really get teeth in one day?

Answer: There are a few instances where you can get teeth in a day.

You will most likely have implants placed first. Implants are titanium “roots” that support teeth. If you have adequate bone and proper bone density, then you can have a screw retained immediate denture delivered to you the day following your surgery.

This is becoming more commonplace in the field of implant dentistry. Dentists are finding ways to get patients immediate screw-in retained dentures the day after surgery. Previously a patient would have to wait three of four months to have a stable prosthesis. There are several companies such as Biohorizons and Noble Bio Care who design implant systems to enable dentists to perform these procedures.

The implant system is registered with the trademark name TeethXpress. This is an immediate load implant system for edentulous patients. It helps to achieve the stabilization of the immediate screw-in retained denture. When there is not enough bone or all of the implants cannot be placed at once, the more implants can be placed and the final results can be achieved. Here at South Florida Sedation Dentistry we are experienced Biohorizons TeethXpress center.

So can you really get teeth in one day? If the sun, the moon, the stars, and all the planets align at the same time of your surgery, then you can have teeth in TWO days.
