Heart & Soul Fest offers music, food and fun

The West Palm Beach Community Redevelopm­ent Agency will host the sixth annual Heart & Soul Fest in the city’s Historic Northwest District from 2 to 8 p.m. today with an array of music, food and activities, including a health fair. This family event is free and will take place on Rosemary Avenue and Eighth Street across from the Sunset Lounge.

Headlining this year’s event will be Kenny Lattimore, a Grammy-nominated R&B singer and songwriter best known for his hits “For You,” “Things That Lovers Do” and “Love Me Back.” Popular local bands, including the dynamic Valerie Tyson Band and the soulful Andrew Luv and The Franchise Players, will also be in attendance.

In addition, the festival offers activities for people of all ages, such as carnival-style games, face painting and a children’s dance contest. Zion Fitness will host various free stay-fit demonstrat­ions for guests, including Zumba, spinning, step aerobics, a rock-climbing wall, kids’ obstacle course and more.

There will be free shuttle service to Heart & Soul Fest from the Palm Beach County Judicial and Government­al Center parking lot on Banyan Boulevard and Rosemary Avenue during festival hours and through 9 p.m. Admission and entertainm­ent are free and open to the public.
