The Third Annual State of the State Address is a collaboration between Place of Hope and GL Homes to engage Palm Beach County’s business community on Thursday, June 21 at the Kravis Center, Cohen Pavilion in West Palm Beach.
A highlight of the summer, Place of Hope’s business breakfast will once again spotlight a hometown hero with an award to honor a community leader. North Palm Beach resident Jeff Atwater received last year’s inaugural Hometown Hero Award, which is now named in his honor.
This year, Jeff Atwater, vice president for strategic initiatives and CFO at Florida Atlantic University, will present the award to Paul Leone, CEO of The Breakers Palm Beach and Flagler System. Paul’s leadership and passion for people is demonstrated through his celebrated career and commitment to philanthropy.
With locations spanning Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, Place of Hope provides family-style foster care for children and support services for youth aging out of foster care.
GL is a strong supporter of Place of Hope’s efforts, particularly with young adults who age out of foster care at 18 years old. If not for Place of Hope’s support, these young people would be at great risk of being homeless. GL’s philanthropic focus is working with nonprofits to break the cycle of homelessness.
