It proved a happy and exciting day for a number of furry residents of Animal Care and Control in West Palm Beach who traveled—along with their dedicated handlers—to Worth Avenue to participate in a Sip and Shop. It was an effort to which a group of Worth Avenue stores happily donated a significant percentage of their sales to The Darbster Foundation, whose work helps support this wonderful shelter and that concentrates its resources on animal welfare on a community level.

Enthusiasm was rampant and a significant amount of funds were raised. The shops participating were Roberta Roller Rabbit, J.McLaughlin, Sequin, Anne Fontaine and Leggiadro. The afternoon was the vision of Palm Beach philanthropist Ginny Millner, who has dedicated her life to saving homeless and abused animals, working with Victor Figueredo of The Darbster Foundation, to make this wonderful day a brilliant success.

The Darbster Foundation’s mission is “working towards finding forever homes for every adoptable dog and cat in South Florida by partnering with local shelters and rescues” and the lovely dogs and cats represented, all of whom would make lovely and deserving pets. Darbster Restaurant—a highly rated vegan restaurant on Dixie Highway whose profits support the efforts of the Foundation—contributed delicious snacks.
