The Selfless Love Foundation’s
First Annual Gala raised more than
$1.2 million to benefit current and former foster children. South Florida philanthropists Ed and Ashley Brown hosted an exclusive event for 200 guests at the Flager Museum. The Foundation’s initiatives include Brown’s Harbor, a supportive housing program for former foster children and Family-Match, an adoption-matching technology for current foster children waiting to find their forever families.
Ashley Brown, a child of adoption, expressed gratitude, “We are so excited to be celebrating our first gala. One hundred percent of tonight’s proceeds will help fulfill Selfless Love Foundation’s mission of transforming the lives of current and former foster children. Together, we are fostering dreams.”
Title sponsor Southern Glazer’s
Wine & Spirits supported the intimate evening, which featured self-made billionaire and former foster child,
John Paul DeJoria. On behalf of City Furniture, DeJoria surprised former foster child and Brown’s Harbor graduate, Kenisha Sands, with furniture for her recently purchased new home.
“We are so appreciative of all the support from our family and friends. With their help we are changing the lives of children with the gift of a family,” said Ed Brown, President and CEO of The Patrón Spirits Company.
