Everyone’s got a favorite local Mexican or Tex-Mex spot. And getting there on Cinco de Mayo should be a priority. Because, yes, tacos and margaritas are worth it — even in celebratio­n of a super obscure battle that took place in Mexico in 1862.

Here’s a quick list of some of the best Cinco de Mayo parties and dining deals in town. Cheers!

Galley

Tucked into the Hilton West Palm Beach, Galley will be serving up delicious bites and specialty cocktails for the holiday, such as their Spicy Avocado Margarita ($12).

Coyo Taco Palm Beach

Coyo Taco will celebrate its first Cinco de Mayo in Palm Beach. The new Mexican taqueria will feature $6 tacos including al pastor, pastor de pollo and hongos (aka mushrooms). Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar

Definitely the go-to Cinco de Mayo party in South Florida. The party includes drink specials, live entertainm­ent, giveaways and free tequila whenever Rocco and “Team Cinco” are on the bar. Join Mojito Latin Cuisine for a fiesta on the CityPlace square. The party will feature live music, dancers, painting by pop artist Gregory Christakis and Flor de Mirabal cigars. A full bar will be offered featuring $4 tacos and Mojito’s strawberry daiquiri served with fresh coconut.

Calaveras Cantina Block Party

The popular block party in Harboursid­e Place is featuring an outdoor taco tent, three outdoor bars and Chihuahua races! Live music with a mariachi band will liven up the party from 1 to 6 p.m. All of the money from the Chihuahua races, which are new this year, will benefit Jupiter Dog Rescue. Blue Moon Mexican Café

Blue Moon will celebrate with giveaways throughout the day

This hipster taqueria is a favorite of local barcrawler­s and tequila lovers. On Cinco de Mayo, El Camino is throwing a big party with D J-spun music, giveaways and $7 coffee tequila shots.

Deck 84

Deck 84 will throw a special Cinco de Derby fiesta. Starting at 2 p.m., the waterside restaurant will feature drink specials including a Woodford mint julep and festive Herradura margaritas. Don Chepo’s Taco Shop

The new hip taco shop in Wellington will throw an all-day Cinco de Mayo party Saturday. Don Chepo’s parking lot will have a bounce house, face painting and jumbo lawn games. At noon there will be a parents vs. kids taco-eating contest. A live band will perform at 5 p.m. and there will be a DJ and a mariachi band. Enjoy $5 margaritas all day.

On Saturday, Burger Bar at Donald Ross Village will offer $5 frozen margaritas, Patron shots and Corona beers.
