Body found in pond with no trauma signs

A body found in an alligator-infested pond is a woman and there are no signs of trauma to her body, authoritie­s said Thursday.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies initially thought they were looking for a teenage boy since a witness told 911 dispatcher­s Wednesday evening that he saw a teen flailing and screaming about having been bitten before going underwater.

After crews pulled the body from the retention pond early Thursday, they discovered it was a woman who remained unidentifi­ed, the Sheriff ’s Office said in a tweet.

Deputies don’t know how the woman got into the fenced-off retention pond, and they said they have no reports of a missing woman.

The Fish and Wildlife Conservati­on Commission, Fire Rescue and the County Sheriff ’s Office took part in the search. brought the drugs ashore at Port Everglades, near Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Investigat­ors said Powell took a 15-milligram pill of morphine prescribed by her doctor when she arrived at her bartending job on March 10. Later she took a half pill and drank four to five shots. She picked up her children and put them to bed.

Powell was released on a $15,000 bond. Jail records don’t list a lawyer for her. was sentenced Wednesday. Jurors found him guilty last month of first-degree murder but didn’t recommend the death penalty.

Authoritie­s say Condell and four other men targeted a home in October 2006 because they mistakenly believed a man named “Haitian Pete” was the boyfriend of the homeowner and kept his drug money there.

Chaquone Watson, and his mother, Carla Queeley, were fatally shot during the robbery, while two other women and two children were wounded.

Rayon Samuels, Bjon Lee and Damian Lewis were sentenced to 20 years each after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
